Social Media Heralds are volunteers who share content from the Symposium on social media. Each session will have two Heralds, one for Mastodon and one for BlueSky.
All Symposium attendees are encouraged to sign up to be a Social Media Herald, and posts in any language are welcome.
Social Media Herald duties:
- Post on Mastodon or BlueSky during the session you signed up for to help spread the content of the symposium to those who couldn’t make it synchronously. Make sure your posts follow the Global DH Symposium Code of Conduct.
- Live-posting style threads are encouraged but not requiredโsimply sharing an interesting point or quote from each presentation is enough.
- Use #MSUGlobalDH in your posts and/or tag the MSU Global DH Mastodon account: msuglobaldh@hcommons.social or the MSU Global DH Bluesky account: https://bsky.app/profile/globaldhsymposium.bsky.socialย
- Do not include screenshots or pictures of slides unless the presenter explicitly gives permission. Do not share pictures or screenshots that include faces of any attendees.ย
- If you spot questions being asked on your platform about the presentation, you are welcome to relay them during Q&A. We haven’t promised this, so it is not required.
The link to sign up will be sent to registrants in the weeks leading up to the Symposium. Heralds must sign up by March 28th. If you want to sign up but cannot find the link, email the conference organizers.
